The January Favourites - ThatBelleMakeup

It's the 31st of January and you all know what that means!? The monthly favourites. January has been a great month for me, which I am glad for as it was the best start for the year of 2016. Not only have I been using new makeup products, I have been indulging in skincare, makeup trends and TV programmes.

To start off with is makeup, I have been loving mixing the two foundations from Clinique - The Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer with the Clinique Even Better Foundation. I am in love with the finish that it has, with the brightening, glow that they both offer together, I have found my go-to mix for a daily basis. For my birthday, I received some MAC goodies of which included the MAC Blush in 'Pinch Me'. I love the warmth that this blush provides to my face and love how it's not too bright on my face. When applying my makeup, I usually dampen my beauty blender and work it into my skin but recently I have tried a different technique which I have been loving and prefer the outcome. Now, I don't dampen my beauty blender but instead, I use a foundation brush to apply my foundation on my skin and a dry beauty blender to push it into my skin. An updated makeup look will be coming soon, but at the moment, I have been loving this way and personally, I think it looks a lot better. I have been baking, I must say I do like it. I like the fact that my under-eyes look brighter, I thought that I might as well join in with the trend - so far, so good.

Moving on to skincare, I am sure a lot of you know that I have an obsession with Clinique at the moment. Unfortunately, I have ran out of my Clinique 3 Step Skincare, All About Eyes and Moisture Surge - they will all definitely be a repurchase. I fell in love with everything that is Clinique this month. With the eye cream, I saw a massive change with my under-eye circles, they decreased and my makeup looked better. With the moisture surge, I have found my new favourite moisturiser. I love the gel-like creme that provides a light-weight feel alongside uplifting my complexion. To tone my face, I have been using the Vitamin E Refreshing Toning Mist ( I have written a post on my review of it - cheeky plug, I know). I use this twice a day and have realised that my face is gradually toning - thank goodness.

Away from the face, let's move on to lifestyle side of things. I watched Creed which came out this month on the 15th January. I did love watching the movie, it was really good and would recommend it. I am the type of person to get in boxing or films similar to this, so I was on the edge of my seat. I started watching Making A Murderer which I am sure that all of you have heard about by now, I have 4 episodes left. It's an interesting documentary, all I will say about it is that if you are going to watch make sure you watch it without distractions every little bit adds up. I have been obsessed with Scandal for such a long time and I am currently loving it, hope you guys watch it as well. Last but not least my favourite scent of this month - this was hard because I have been loving the Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Pear Cologne but I have also be using my Chloe Eau de Parfum on a daily basis which I wrote a post about before.

The Sunday Edit: How Do I Get Blemishes?

ThatBelleMakeup - The Sunday Edit

Welcome to my first series of 'The Sunday Edit' where every Sunday I will be posting posts mainly based around lifestyle and skincare in depth. To diverge and differentiate my content, I decided to introduce this series on to my blog weekly. Apart from my daily posts on beauty, I am looking to introduce different posts this year.  For more about today's post surrounding blemishes, keep reading below.

There are many ways that the skin can come in contact with a lot of bacteria on a daily basis much of which you probably don't know. It was only the other day, I had realised this so I decided to compose this post.

Do you wash your hands before you apply makeup or before you do your morning skincare? If you don't, you are likely to come in contact with dirt. There are many things that you probably have touched such as a kitchen sink or something like that and when applying makeup is more likely to spread bacteria around your face. Especially if you are rubbing in primer or moisturiser.

I am pretty sure many people have told you this before, but always remember to take off your makeup before going to sleep. I know there are times that one can be extremely tired and can not be bothered to do your whole nighttime skincare routine, but honestly, it will benefit in many ways. Ok, trust me I have been there - the majority of the week, I am way too tired to do anything but I do my best to either get makeup wipes to take off my makeup or even use the Garnier Micellar Water to take off my makeup.

Another thing in relation to makeup is washing your makeup brushes on a frequent basis. Oh, how I cannot express this enough. The amount of dirt and bacteria that builds up on your brushes is unbelievable. Personally, I wash my brushes every fortnight as I find that works best for me, also, I don't wear makeup every single day.

Your diet. I bet you were waiting for this. Your diet plays a huge role in your life if you eat a lot of fatty foods you are likely to break out into spots etc. Mcdonald's is great, pizza is absolutely delightful and so is a huge burger. I am not here to say to you that you should not eat these things, but everything in moderation. Balance out your diet and make sure you are happy with the food that you are eating - most importantly.

Drink a lot of water. A beauty tip for you all, drink loads of water. If you are like me and don't like the taste of water because it is bland, add your favourite fruit. Put a lemon in there or even a slice of kiwi. Drinking at least 3 full glasses a day, clears your skin, brightens your eyes, reduce eye circles and overall makes you feel good.

Stress is one of the most common factors that causes spots. All lot of us get stressed at least once in our life, it's normal. There are many ways to try and combat stress, pamper evenings are one my favourite things to do. Sunday pamper evenings consists of  lighting a candle, reading a book, using your favourite LUSH bath bomb and the essential part a bubble bath. This gets you ready for the upcoming week but also calms you down. Another way is to always take breaks. Too much work leads to stress, take breaks, guys. Take breaks, I can not stress that enough.

Hope you liked the first of The Sunday Edit.

The Lazy Edit

Friday, 15 January 2016

There are days where one can not be bothered to apply a full face of makeup, one of those days was yesterday for me where I just applied foundation and concealer. For today's post, I thought I'd share the 3 ways that I wear makeup on days that I feel lazy or unbelievably tired.

The Foundation Edit:

There are days where I only like to wear face makeup. For those days like this, I use the Clinique Even Better Foundation with the smallest pump. I apply this all over my face with a damp beauty blender ensuring that it is blending everywhere especially on my neck. After the foundation, I use the LA Girl Concealer to conceal the under eye circles, chin, cupids bow, down the bridge of my nose and above my eyebrows. If my under eye circles are exceptionally bad, I like to pack a lot of concealer on to hid everything away. To set my face, I apply the MAC Pressed Blot Powder, I love the finish it has on my skin and doesn't make me look to dry as I don't apply a lot on. For my eyebrows, I use the Sleek Brow Stylist which I love. That's it, simple and fast on average this takes me less than 10 minutes to do.

The Eyeliner and Concealer Edit:

For these days, I only apply liquid liner, mascara and concealer. I bet you're like what? For my winged liner, I use the MUA Matte Black Liquid Liner. To coat my lashes, I use the Clinique High Impact Mascara (best mascara ever, in my opinion). Moving on to the face, I put concealer on the usual parts that I do on my face. Once you spend time blending in your concealer it will look better than you thought. Obviously, set the concealer the usual way you'll do it and you'll look normal. Well for me I do. Haha.

The Eyeshadow and BB Cream Edit:

BB Cream is the best thing ever. To apply this on my face, I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush all over my face or sometimes the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge. Now, depending on my mood depends on which palette or what makeup look I intend on going for. But usually, I stick to two shades - one all over my lid and another for the inner corner. The two palettes I usually go for is the ELF Limited Edition and Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Palette.

The Chloe Eau de Parfum

ThatBelleMakeup - Chloe Pefume

I have an obsession with products that smell beautiful, whether that be candles, diffusers, perfume or sprays. I collect and buy a lot of these things, this Christmas I received the Chloe Eau de Parfum which has been on my list for perfumes that I want to buy. I was so happy to receive this and I thought that I might as well write a post dedicated to this beautiful scent.

Opening this on Christmas Day made me so happy. One of my favourite YouTubers Meghan Rosette used to go on about how much she loved this perfume and that it was her signature scent. I decided to go out and get a smell of this perfume that she has been continually raving about. BEST DECISION EVER. I am absolutely in love with this perfume, it's got such a lovely scent which lasts all day and stays on your clothes. I have only used it twice but I do not need to use it on an everyday basis because the scent lingers all around your clothing like your coat. (I change my clothes every day).

Personally, I find that this scent has a woody feel to it which is very warm and floral. I am a sucker for scents that are like this.  The perfume is accompanied by a fresh tone with cedar, amber and peony. The packaging has to be my favourite thing about this perfume, the elegance that surrounds this bottle with the small pink ribbon just makes my small perfume collection look classy. I would recommend this perfume to anyone who is looking for a scent that can be for everyday use!

Have you got the Chloe Eau de Parfum?

Products That I'd Repurchase

Friday, 8 January 2016

The products above have now become a daily application, I can not go a day without applying one of these products.

I talked about this cream in my previous Clinique Christmas post and I have not stopped using this ever since Christmas Day which has been approximately 3 weeks. I have noticed a change, this cream has manage to decrease my dark circles as well as make it look better underneath my makeup. Before using this cream, my under eye circles used to show underneath my makeup but since using this product it has different changed my makeup game if I do say so myself.

Why haven't I used this before or heard about this before? It's soft, gel like texture make it easier to rub in this moisturiser. I use this on a daily basis. Continually making my skin feel irrestitably soft, makes the application of makeup much easier, other than this my makeup free days look much better and healthier. For those who are trying to find a moisturiser that doesn't dry out, I would highly recommend this product.

I don't think I have ever been in love with a mascara like this one. Its formula provides a long lasting lengthening individual effect which I am sure we all know and lust for. The impression you will first get is "am I wearing individual lashes?", I have been asked that questioned on many occasions when I do wear this mascara which is everyday.

Maybe I live under a rock but I never knew that there is matte black liquid eyeliner. Ever since discovering this, I have been in love. I am in love with the finish that is gives, the applicator is easy for those who are not that confident in applying liquid liner. I love the fact that it doesn't smudge throughout the day, even when you're sleeping. I have many naps and my liner was still intact.

I don't know how many times I have talked about this, but I really do like this product. A drugstore product like this lasts all day and looks very natural on my complexion. It's not too bright, just the right amount of shine is in this product.

What products would you repurchase?

A Clinique Christmas

Clinique Christmas

Clinique Christmas

Christmas was approximately a week ago and I have not posted a 'What I Got For Christmas' post. I decided not to but I thought I'd shared with you the many Clinique products that I had received during this festive Christmas. For those who don't know much about Clinique, they are an allergy free and fragrance-tested brand who have products for all different skins ranging from normal to dry/combination. Luckily enough I was able to get quite a few products from Clinique this year as my Christmas presents.

Before Christmas, I decided to purchase the Clinique 3-Step Intro Kit which inside includes a Clarifying Lotion, Moisturising Gel and Liquid Facial Soap. They were in small sizes, but up till now are still lasting apart from the Liquid Facial Soap. I then received on Christmas Day the full sized bottle of the Clinique Facial Soap. I then also received the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm which has been on my list for a while. There will be in-depth reviews coming your way shortly, but for my first impression I love the fact that this cleansing balm does not have a fragrance. It is gentle on the skin and turns milky once applied with water. To go with this, I also received the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Cloths. I was very excited by these, I have used one of them obviously. They take off makeup extremely well, the combo is perfect together.

Other than that, I also received the Clinique Eye Makeup Solvent. I have used this once, it was also very delicate around the eyes with a cotton pad. I also got the Clinique All About Eyes cream which I have been using for a while now, it is very light under the eyes and I am seeing an improvement. Also, I received the Clinique Moisture Surge which can be used as a moisturiser mask or just for everyday use. Last but not least, I got the Clinique Moisturising Lip Balm, I haven't used it yet but I am looking forward to it.

That's it for my Clinique Christmas. Do you like Clinique?

I Wish You A Happy New Year

Friday, 1 January 2016

It is officially 2016 right now. I can not believe it, 2015 went by quick. I thought that for today I'd post my blogging goals for 2016!

1. To improve on my photography.

I'd say that I am at the beginner stage of photography and as the year goes by hopefully, it will improve.

2. Change my theme.
I will be staying on Blogger but I would like to change my theme around and maybe my URL.

3. Interview more bloggers.
If you have not read my previous post with Mollie Manning and JasmineTalksBeauty, I did an interview with them and I found it very interesting. I'd love to do more as the year goes on.

4. Work with brands.
I'd love to work with brands, I think it would be so much for to do and also a learning experience for me as well.

5. Post more regularly.
I do say that I post 4-5 times a week but sometimes I can't keep up but this year it is my goal to post 4-5 times a week! As well as, doing months where I post every day like July, September and December.

What are your goals for 2016, whether blogging or personal?
Let me know in the comments below, I'd love to read.

I wish you a Happy New Year.
