15 Minute Makeup

Monday, 29 February 2016

clinique, 15 minute makeup, revlon

On average it takes me approximately 45 minutes to do my makeup, I like to take my time and it ends up getting close to an hour. I probably spend most of that time blending in my foundation. But only days where I can not be bothered to spend that long but still want to look put together, I opt for this routine.

First things first, do your everyday skincare routine. For the base, I will only be using the NARS Creamy Concealer under my eyes and the many blemishes I have all over my face. To set my face, I will be using the MAC Pressed Blot Powder to make sure nothing creases or moves as the day goes on. For the eyes, I will be coating my lashes with a lot of makeup so that I can make my lashes look fake for this I will be using the Clinique High Impact. I can't live without winged liner but it is a 15-minute makeup so I won't be doing that. For filling in my brows, I will be using the Sleek Brow Stylist. To warm up my face, I will be using the a lot of highlighter. Drugstore highlighter for this would be the Revlon Highlighting Palette in Bronze Glow on my cupids bow, cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.Yes, I will look like a disco ball. For lips, I'll be using the Clinique Moisturising Lip Gloss - absolutely in love with this.

A quick post and a quick makeup look!

What's your 15-minute makeup go-to?

February Favourites

Saturday, 27 February 2016

Another month, another monthly favourites. February personally for me has been a bit of a hectic month, quite busy but full of new discoveries and changes. I have also been changing my makeup routine as well but there are still a few products that I would like to put into my makeup menu so next month there may be a few makeup hauls. Just thought, I'd prepare you! Anyway....

Makeup wise. My favourite this month have to be the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer which I have only been using for two weeks but the first time I put this under my eyes I knew I had found a new love. It took me a long time to get on the trend but I am now on it and never going back. I feared that it would be quite heavy but I am loving this a lot. Highlighting and covering the areas that I would like it to do, what more could I want from a concealer? This probably has to be my only makeup favourite of the month as I have been using this on a daily basis. On to skincare, I have been using the NUXE Reve de Miel lip balm at least twice a day and have been loving the benefit that it has given my lips by completely hydrating and nourishing my lips with its thick, creamy texture.

On my phone, I have been loving Instagram a lot this month. The Instagrams that are worth following are Tanya Burr, Alyssa Lenore, Grey Layers and WishWishWish. Other than phone, I have been loving a lot of YouTube channels this month. My latest obsession has to be, hands down, the lovely NikkieTutorials. Her face, her makeup skills and her - I am obsessed. I don't have a favourite video, I must say. Another YouTube favourite has to be HelloOctober, her YouTube channel is so fresh and clean. Her videos are so put together and I love her high-end products.

Blog wise. My favourite bloggers this month have to be Jasmine Talks Beauty, Blooming Rouge, InTheFrow and SophiesMakeup!! Definitely worth checking out, would recommend it. Last but not least, music wise. I have been singing Adele's All I Ask at least every single day, have you heard the John Saga cover? If not you should, also please watch this dance video that I watched the other day with John Saga's cover and a couple dancing to it. So beautiful. Another song, I have been loving is Work by Rihanna and Drake. YASSS.

What are your February Favourites?

Why I Love Clinique

Monday, 22 February 2016

clinique review

Clinique has been a brand that has been constantly appearing in every single photo that I post on my Instagram or blog photos. Some of you maybe thinking that I am sponsored by them or in affiliate with them, however, that is not the case. I have been an absolute die-hard fan of Clinique for the past 7 months since my first discovery of their foundation. For those of who that don't know, Clinique is a fragrance-free and allergy tested skincare brand. The great thing about this brand is that it has products for everyone and anyone, especially those who have sensitive skin (aka me).

The first product I bought from Clinique is the Even Better Foundation. It comes in a small tube but has lasted me a very long time. Up till this day, I still have a lot of foundation left in this tube this is because a little goes a long way with this foundation. I use this up to 5 times a week, with only using a minimal amount on the back of my hand. The finish that this foundation provides is medium to full coverage, don't worry it's buildable. There is an almost dewy, satin finish to it as well. Being able to last all day and then some. After this amazing experience with Clinique, I decided to move on to their skincare ever since hearing much greatness about their products. In December, I purchased the 3 Step Skincare which included the Liquid Facial Soap, Clarifying Lotion and Moisturising Gel. This only lasted about 2 weeks but the change in my skin was different. I realised that my skin was a lot more clearer and youthful.

Since it finished, for Christmas I received a lot of Clinique products which I mentioned in my Clinique Christmas post. I got a full sized bottle of the Clinique Facial Soap which I still have and it has been two months so it is definitely worth the £16.50 purchase. I must say using this soap twice a day has made my skin better, it's very gentle on the skin. I also received the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm which had been on my skincare list for a fairly long time. So thankful, I got this product. It has made taking off my makeup so much easy, you only need to apply a generous amount of this balm to your handle which easily glides against your skin. It takes off your makeup easily, doesn't make the skin dry and doesn't pull against the skin like wipes do. Whilst using this product, I also use the Clinique Cleansing Cloths which I have used two of already. They work like a dream together.  I haven't used this Clinique Eye Makeup Remover Solvent that much but from my small uses, it is very gentle on the skin. It does remove eye makeup very well, I like the way it smells too.

I have also used the Clinique All About Eyes Cream, best and only eye cream that I have ever used. My dark under-eye circles have reduced ever since using this product. The only thing that I loved about this product is that it made my eye area look beautiful and flawless underneath my makeup. I also used the Clinique Moisture Surge Gel. Why I didn't discover this before, I have no idea! It is amazing, it feels so gentle and light on the skin. It doesn't dry out the skin, so it is perfect for those with dry skin. It also brightens the face as well, there's a theme to the Clinique products I can see.

Moving back to makeup, I have used the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation in a sample size and I am looking to purchase it next month. I loved the finish it gave with the two top foundations together, it really brightened and evened out my complexion. On to lips, the only lipstick I have ever tried from Clinique is the Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer Lipstick in Nude Pop. It moisturises the lips and gives a nice pop of colour to the lips. I have spoken about this a lot, so there is more about it in my Four Of The Best Lip Balms post.

The Votes:

1. Clinique Moisture Surge Gel.
2. Clinique All About Eyes Cream.
3. Clinique Liquid Facial Soap.
4. Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer.
5. Clinique Even Better Foundation.

Have you tried any Clinique products?

6 Instagrams Worth The Follow | The Sunday Edit

Sunday, 21 February 2016

I have a mini obsession with Instagram accounts. When it comes to searching for a Instagram account or even obsessing over one, I don't have a particular theme that I go for mainly the way that pictures look or even the person! I keep up with all my favourite bloggers and artists on Instagram - I am sure that's how it is for you as well. Today, I thought I'd share my 7 favourite Instagrammers, from bloggers to YouTubers, I hope that you find at least one account that you haven't come across yet and follow them!

I have been obsessed with Jeanne Grey for a very long time as well as following her on all her social media accounts. Her Instagram is full of photos that document her life whether that be her attending the Kylie and Kendall launch party, NYFW, trips to Morocco or just her daily life. Oh, and her style! NYC based fashion blogger, TheGreyLayers is an addictive Instagram which will leave you continuously double tapping her photos.

Another NYC Blogger! Alyssa's instagram is full of the neutrals, grey, black and white. If you love this theme, then this is probably the Instagram for you! I am completely in love with her fashion choices and her photos just look so gorgeous!

We all know Tanya Burr. Blogger and YouTuber. Probably one of my favourite YouTubers. The reason mainly why I love Tanya's Instagram is that I love how each picture shows her daily life but also recently I have been loving her holiday photos and her outfits. Her clothes. Her wardrobe, I think there's a theme with all the Instagrams that I love.

Carrie, Carrie, Carrie. Her blog is one of my inspirations, her Instagram is just beautiful. It is the photos, they are so crisp and very clear. As she is one of my favourite bloggers, I find it not hard to be also obsessed with her Instagram. I wouldn't mind her photography skills. That's a perfect explanation, is it not?

Victoria's instagram is full of her daily events such as London Fashion Week, Paris trips and many events such as Clarins. To be honest, there's not much to say about why I love Victoria's blog just let her photos doing all the talking for me,

My current obsession. Aside from new love for NikkieTutorials, I found Suzie. Apart from my love for her YouTube channel, I won't lie but I fell instantly in love with the theme and colour of her Instagram. Her Instagram showcases her current loves, her #hellooctobertravels and her fashion choices. Not to mention her recent purchases of Chanel bags, I want them!

Who are your favourite Instagrammers?

LFW | Shop The Topshop SS16 Collection

Saturday, 20 February 2016

It's official. The start of London Fashion Week! As I am sure the majority of you are aware of the London Fashion Week event that took place in September 2015, where the beautiful showcase of the Spring/Summer Topshop collection was modelled on the glamorous models. I thought it was about right that I show you the collection before the new one comes out.

Filled with oversized tailoring and 80s-inspired polka dots, this Unique Summer/Spring Collection is full of clothing that desperately needs to be in my wardrobe. As you can see from the small collection that I picked out from the bottom, I have an admiration for stripes. With the plunging V-Neck clothes as well as the luxe fluffy high-heeled sandals, the Unique SS16 collection is all styled with 80's glamour combined with Great British classics.

I am absolutely in love with all the pieces that are above and cannot wait to see what this years Autumn/Winter collection shall bring. Make sure you tune in on to Topshop's website to get updates live about the catwalk. Wish I was going to LFW. Hopefully, I'll be going to the LFW in September!

Will you be attending LFW?

Four Of The Best Lip Balms

Tuesday, 16 February 2016

4 Of The Best Lip Balms
Burts Bees Honey Lip Balm, Clinique Pop Primer and Lipstick 'Nude Pop' and Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm.

Lips care is very important to me, I do love lip balms, apart from liquid liner and mascara I'd have to say lip balms are my favourite product to use on my face beauty wise. I apply a lip balm on my lips at least 3 times a day, most importantly in the morning and the end to my evening skincare. Over the years, I have alternated between many lip products so below I put together my favourite lip balms. Here is my best lip balm edit.

Burts Bees Lip Review

Made with natural beeswax, covered in honey and almond oil, this lip balm quickly moisturises your lips and leaves them feeling soft as well. Using this before going to bed after your evening skincare will leave your lips feeling hydrated throughout the night. Once you wake up, your lips won't be dry.
Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm Review

My current holy grail lip product at the moment. Influenced by a few of the reviews I came across online, I decided to hop into Space NK and purchase it. Best decision for my lips that I have ever made. NUXE's lip balm smells lovely with an orange scent which isn't too overwhelming. With its thick, creamy texture this lip balm is so soft on the lips and easily moisturises the lips. Using a small amount of this, goes a long way.
Clinique Pop Primer and Lipstick Review

Only purchased this a couple of months ago and have been loving it. Sometimes, I don't put on any other lip balm and just apply this on my lips. At first, I thought that this would make my lips dry but Clinique never seems to disappoint me. The lipstick feels like a lip balm and doesn't flake on the lips. It does keep your lips moisturised for a long time whilst providing a pop of colour - it glides on effortlessly especially if your lips are already semi-soft.

I have been using this lip balm for many, many years and it has to be my all-time favourite lip balm. With its cooling effect once instantly applied on the lips, Carmex hydrates the lips with cocoa butter and lanolin. This lip balm definitely reduces any dry, chapped lips that anyone might have. It has been a lifesaver for me over the past years.

These are my current favourites. Are there more that I should know of? What lip balms do you love?

New Discovers & A Very Small Haul!

Monday, 15 February 2016

I have had my eye on many makeup products at the moment and have finally composed a list that I am happy with. It all comes to a huge amount of money which I am not going to say but just know that it is over £200. On my recent shopping trip, I discovered a lot of makeup products that have been added to my list and I did try them on. Other than that, I bought a few products that I'll be sharing today.

Let's first talk about the products that I bought because there is not a lot of them. I have had my eye on the NARS Creamy Concealer for a while but was very sceptical about purchasing it but I decided to get on the trend. I tried it out, it was quite thick when applying it on which was different for my as I use the LA Pro Girl Concealer which is very lightweight. However, I loved the way it blended it. I went into Space NK, which is now my favourite store and purchase the NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Balm. I have applied it on more than 3 times already and I am in love. It's so creamy, thick and smells good. Glad I picked this up. I've damaged my Real Techniques Miracle Sponge so I decided to go and purchase another one. I was tempted to purchase the real Beauty Blender but didn't. Maybe next time.

On to, my latest discoveries. I have been on the look out for makeup products that would look nice on my skin, last long and more importantly, not irritate my skin. I have sensitive skin so this is vital for me. In Space NK, I discovered the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder which I will be buying very soon. I tried it out with a highlighting brush which felt so nice on the skin. It had such a beautiful glow to it and I instantly fell in love. It lasted more than 7 hours on my face which proved that I should buy this highlighter. I also fell in love with a few MAC lipsticks and lip liners. 'Diva' and 'Sin' are the two lipsticks that are on my MAC list at the moment. They both looked gorgeous. 'Chestnut' is a lipliner that has been on my wishlist for a while as well.

Although, I had plans to buy a lot, I stopped myself and wrote a list. So next time, it is going to go down. Stay tuned for a massive makeup haul soon!

What makeup products have you discovered recently?

The Valentine' Day Makeup

Saturday, 13 February 2016

The Valentine's Day Makeup

The Valentine's Day Makeup

Valentine's Day is tomorrow, can't believe its already February. For those that will be going on 14th February, here's a day makeup look that is adaptable for even a day to day basis. This is my Valentine's Day Makeup Look.

Let's be honest, I won't be doing my makeup on Sunday but if I was this is the look that I would go for.  For foundation, I'll be using the Clinique Even Better Foundation for a natural, dewy finish. Since, we are going for a flawless base, I'll also be using a high coverage concealer which is the LA Pro Girl Concealer for under my eyes and any blemishes. I put a lot on, not only for covering my under eyes but also to give that highlighted effect. To powder, my face I'll be using the MAC Pressed Blot Powder with a fluffy brush.

I have discovered the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder and I am in love. It will be purchased next month as I tried it on and it was beautiful. But while we are waiting for that beauty, I'll be using a drugstore highlighting palette from Revlon. To give my cheeks a coral, rosy fresh glow I will be using the MAC Blusher in 'Pinch Me'

Moving on to eyes, I'll be using my Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Palette for a fresh look but with only one shade. For my inner corner, I'll be using Skimp and for the whole lid, I'll be using a dark brown eyeshadow from another palette. To line my upper lashes, I'll be using the MUA Matte Black Liquid Liner but there will be no winged liner today. Shock! I'll apply 3 coats of my High Impact Mascara and curl my lashes, you can learn about how I make my lashes look fake!

To fill in my eyebrows, I'll be using the Sleek Brow Stylist for a natural brow look and brushing through with brush on the other side. Moving on to lips, I'll be lining my lips lighting with MAC's Vino and finishing off with Clinique's Nude Pop lipstick which is a beautiful combo. With this lipstick, it moisturises the lips and is very easy to apply on.

What will be your Valentine's Day Look? Makeup or no makeup?

How To Make Your Eyelashes Look Fake

Monday, 8 February 2016

How To Make Your Lashes Look Fale

False eyelashes are made to make your eyelashes look longer and full. There are many of us, including me, that love using false eyelashes to make your makeup feel completed but also just to add the 'oomph' to your makeup look. For those that want to have that 'false eyelashes' effect but don't want to use false lashes, keep on reading the ways I liked to achieve this look.

1. Curl your lashes. Curling your lashes before applying on mascara leaves your lashes full and upright. Put your lashes in between and clump about 7-8 times in pulses to ensure your lashes stay up.

2. (Optional) Use a eyelash primer. I am looking to purchase either the Benefit Eyelash Primer or the Clinique Lash Building Primer. This will help the mascara hold on to your lashes whilst providing a full, lengthening look that I am sure you are all going for.

3. Use a lengthening or full mascara. Mascaras like Benefit Roller Lash, Clinique High Impact, MAC False Lashes and Maybelline Great Lash are examples of such great mascaras that can lengthen your eyelashes especially if you know how to apply it probably.

4. Determine what look you are going for. I like the individual lashes look - do this, I apply one coat of mascara normally from the root to the tip of my top lashes. Then, I apply another coat of mascara, when applying it from the root to the tip,  I coat my lashes with the brushes in a zig-zag way (I hope I explained that well). After this, I turn my downwards and individually coat my lashes. So in total, I coat my lashes 3 times - try and make sure it doesn't dry otherwise you'll have a very hard time.

Get Un-Ready With Me | The Sunday Edit

Sunday, 7 February 2016

I'll be honest with you all, I don't always remember to take off makeup but for most days, I have a specific skincare routine that I stick to and has seen it benefiting me in so many ways such as evening out my skin, reducing blemishes as well as my dark under eye circles. So, if you want to know how I take off my makeup as well as my night routine, keep on reading.

To take off my makeup, I use the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm by applying a generous amount to my fingertips in which I massage it into my skin and across my eyes. I have been using this a lot, it doesn't take long to take off my makeup and doesn't irritate sensitive skin.  I personally perfer using balms or cleansing oils as I tend to find that makeup removing wipes pull against the skin whereas massaging a balm into your skin doesn't. To take off the residue, I use the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm Cleansing Cloth which ensures my makeup is successfully removed with lukewarm water. I usually brush my teeth as this time but after that I use the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap to wash my face. I use this twice a day - results: extremely good. My skin has been extremely soft and I feel cleansed each time I use this.

Before my Clinique products finished, I'd use the All About Eyes eye cream under my eyes which has been reducing my dark circles as well as making my under eyes look better when makeup is applied. To moisturise my face, I'd use the Clinique Moisture Surge cream which honestly has to be my favourite cream at the moment. It's very gentle on the face, light and extremely hydrating, However, as these beautiful products have run out, I use the Aveeno Daily Moisturiser which has been my go-to moisturiser for many years on end. This moisturiser never fails to hydrate my face and also makes my skin feel soft. To tone my face, I have been using the Vitamin E Refreshing Toning Mist which has improved my skin dearly. It's very hydrating. To finish off, I like to use the Burts Bees Honey Lip Balm which has Vitamin E and is made from beeswax - using this products leaves my lips feeling extremely soft and also nourishes my lips as well. Sometimes, I use Carmex as well which has a tingling sensation, it is evident that your lips benefit from such product.

What do you use for your night skincare routine?

Interviewing PintSizedBeauty

Friday, 5 February 2016

Wow. It has been a hot minute. I have been very busy this morning and was unable to blog but I am back. For today's post, I interviewed on of my favourite bloggers at the moment who is Lily, the blogger behind PintSizedBeauty. To find out more about the lovely lady behind the blog, keep reading below.

1. A small introduction of your blog.
I am Lily and I write a blog called Pint Sized Beauty; a blog that caters for those who are obsessed with beauty, are copper crazy and are looking for someone to indulge their cravings and enable their guilty pleasures.

2. What inspired you to start blogging?
I was getting really stressed out with sixth form and I wanted to create myself an escape where I could share my love for makeup and in the process try out a different style of photography. This was my second attempt at starting a blog; my first go was a bit naive and half-hearted but the second time around I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do and what I wasn't prepared to compromise on.

3. Your photography is beautiful. What camera/editing programmes do you use?
I tend to stick to my Canon 600D with 50mm lens and Photoshop, but I do like to switch things up and use my iPhone 6S every now and again. For me I need a photo before I can start writing; I jot down ideas but it is the picture that inspires me to write. I've experimented with studio lights and all sorts of camera trickery to find a style I am happy with. In the end, I came full circle and work entirely with natural light and knowing my camera settings and how to get the best from them. This does lead to some minor meltdowns when the light keeps changing but when it works I feel it really works.

4. How long have you been blogging for and what are your favourite parts of blogging?
I started my blog in November 2014 and I instantly fell in love with the community and how inspired blogging made me feel about day-to-day life. I adore those who spread the love and support other bloggers; when someone you fan-girl over replies to a tweet, compliments a photo or comments on a post it can boost you a ridiculous amount. Equally when a complete stranger takes the time to say something positive it is a huge compliment.

5. Where do you see yourself in 2 years? Personally and blog wise.
Of course I would love to go full time with my blog in the next two years and maybe even start a YouTube channel, but I try and not plan too far ahead with it all. I am a photographer and since setting my site up (www.lilydphotography.com - Cheeky plug!) several months ago I have felt more inspired to carry on improving and exploring various areas of photography. I hope I'm still feeling inspired, creative and all that jazz; possibly dabbling in a little interior, lifestyle and maybe even blogging about babies in the future.

6. 4 tips you'd give to people who are starting to blog.
1. Always remember that it's your blog so you can do whatever you like with it. If you don't want to write a blog post then don't. If you want to try out a new blog series then do so. Just have fun.

2. Work hard and play with what you love. Whether you prefer the writing of a blog post, the photography or you like both equally, it is important to just enjoy it so it never feels like work or as if you're forcing content out.

3. Being nice to other bloggers, retweeting the content you love and replying to your readers on social media are great ways to spread the love and interact. We are a community not a competition!

4. Put yourself into your writing and photography. Don't try and emulate anyone else; everyone has their own voice and turn of phrase and sees beauty in different things. Embrace that and be yourself; people will relate to that and love you for it, even if you are loopy! (some of my favourite people in the blogging community are the crazy ones!)

7. Who are your favourite bloggers?
I have so many different blogs that I go to for different advice. Kate La Vie and From Roses are two that give me serious photo envy, but I have been loving At Home With Abby for interior inspiration and That's Just Fabulous for my makeup fix.

8. Would you ever start a YouTube Channel as a way to expand your blog?
I would love to. I have a few video ideas in the pipeline, but I just need the right equipment and enough time to get started now. I always think I sound weird when my voice is recorded and will be really self-conscious to begin with but yes, it's on the 'to do' list...

9. What is your favourite makeup brand?
As a beauty junkie this is one hard question. It's definitely a toss-up between Nars and Charlotte Tilbury, although I do always gravitate towards Bourjois, Tom Ford and MAC.

10. Aside from blogging about makeup, would you ever change anything about your blog?
I have started to focus on more fashion and lifestyle oriented posts recently and I have a few interior posts lined up. I want my blog to feature a bit more of me in 2016.

11. What is your favourite blogging platform? Bloggger, Squarespace or Wordpress?
I use Blogger, I love it and I don't have any intentions of moving anytime soon as I find it really easy to use and it's the perfect platform to start on.
