It's been a while since I blogged, very hectic, but today I am here with another baking post on Ginger biscuits! These are really nice for snacks or whenever you need them to be finger foods for events.

Ginger Biscuits (With Gluten)

110g margarine
110g caster sugar
110 golden syrup
220 self raising flour
2 tsp ground ginger

Method:

Preheat your oven to gas mark 4 or 180c
Melt the margarine, golden syrup and caster sugar in a pan over the hob until soft.
Once melted, remove the pan and cool slightly
Add all the dry ingredients to form a dough.
With floured hands, roll the dough in to small sized balls and place them on a baking tray.
Put the baking tray in the oven for about 10-12 mins or until golden-brown.

Have you made ginger biscuits?

Interviewing IsabelleKateGM

Monday, 11 April 2016

During the month of March, I became obsessed with the blog isabellekategm.co.uk and I have fallen in love with her blog posts as well as makeup looks. As I am currently obsessed with her, I wanted to interview her! So here we go....

1. Hi, Isabelle. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name’s Isabelle and I’m a 17 (almost 18!) year old beauty and lifestyle blogger from Huddersfield in the UK. I’m also an aspiring makeup artist (you can find me at instagram.com/isabellekategm/) and I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with dogs, Cillian Murphy and homeware.

2. Why did you start blogging?
Since the age of about 13 I discovered the world of the YouTubers, ever since I’ve been obsessed with watching videos and reading blogs. I always knew I wanted to start a blogs but I never had the guts, I would always get a ton of beauty related questions over on my Instagram and I decided that the best way to share my love and knowledge of all things beauty was to FINALLY start a blog of my own!

3. Who/what was your inspiration for blogging?
A huge inspiration of mine was Samantha Maria, formerly known as Beautycrush. I loved how aesthetically pleasing her blog was, and I always left feeling inspired by her incredible fashion sense and writing. She makes it look so fun so I thought, why the hell not. There are so many more inspirational bloggers that I love too, though.

4. What is your favourite makeup brand?

I absolutely adore Anastasia Beverly Hills. I’m lucky enough to be on their PR list and I’ve therefore tried every product going, and they’ve never failed me. Their brow products are revolutionary, and Anastasia herself has been so supportive of me through the past year and her company really do care so much about their customers. Plus, they’re cruelty free!

5. Apart from running your beautiful blog, what else do you get up to?

As you’ve probably picked up on by now I’m an aspiring MUA. However, something many don’t know is that I’m also a singer and that’s probably my dream job, I sing everything from musical theatre to pop - performing is where I’m most confident, I love it!

6. What is an average day in the life of Isabelle?

Oh god my life is ridiculously boring, as I’m only 17 I’m still in full time education and I’m studying for my A Levels, so sadly a day in the life of Isabelle is revision revision revision! However my DREAM day would be roaming the streets of London and shopping till I drop, duh.

7. What are your favourite blogs?

Gah there are so many to choose from, so I’m just going to throw out a few names that pop into my head. I LOVE: Katybelle, Fromroses, Agirlobsessed, Tamira Jarrel, Mediamarmalade, Samantha Maria, Hello October, Inthefrow. And the list goes on..

8. Apart from beauty, what fashion stores do you love?

I’m a huge fan of Forever21, when it comes to fashion I’m definitely a bargain hunter at heart and F21 do the most beautiful pieces for an even better price. H&M and Topshop are great too!

9. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Personal/blogging.

Fingers crossed I’m blogging and doing YouTube full time, living in London with a Rottweiler (and 570825703 other dogs). Hopefully have found a boyfriend and NOT be forever alone. A little too optimistic? who knows.

10. What's your favourite time of the year & why?

I think spring is beautiful. I’m not the biggest fan of summer because I’m super pale and any heat is a killer for me, spring is warm and pretty but there’s still a breeze in the air. My favourite thing ever is seeing all of the flowers come out and seeing baby lambs in the fields near my house! Clothing wise though, I bloody love winter - layering is lifeeeee.

Starting An Evening Skincare Routine

Sunday, 3 April 2016

garnier micellar water, aveeno, ren, nuxe

Skincare is the most important thing of a routine, whether that be morning or evening. I have an obsession with skincare, I am always trying to better my skin and buy new products that would improve my skin. DIY skin care products are also my favourite things to do on my face especially on my pamper nights! For more about my evening skincare routine, keep on reading.

TAKING OFF MAKEUP

There are days where some of us are extremely tired to take off your makeup. Me, majority of the week. When I do not take off my makeup, I can tell that my skin will be different the next day, as I tend to break out the next day. So, don't forget to take off your makeup even if it is using makeup removing wipes. On to that note,  personally, makeup removing wipes pull and tug against your skin which is essentially stretching the skin. Using a makeup cleansing balm is the best way to take off your makeup, as it is soft on the skin and doesn't stretch/pull your skin – a cleansing balm for choice would be the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm as it’s long lasting, light and doesn’t irritate sensitive skin. Or even, using the Garnier Micellar Water to take off my makeup is an effective way as from previous trials it successfully removes my makeup without any leftover makeup traces essentially leaves my skin ever so soft.

WASHING YOUR FACE

Don't forget to wash your face after you've taken off your makeup. I'll be the first to say that I don't ALL the time just due to pure  laziness or tiredness, but the days where I know I have to wash my face - I like to use either the Clinique Liquid/Bar Soap or Aveeno Daily Facial Wash. Something lightweight. Washing your face just takes that extra bit of dirt off your face, cleansing and cleaning your skin after a full day of wearing makeup.

TONING

Toning your skin after washing your face keeps your complexion clear and also helps remove any more makeup. Toning cleans your face, removes any dirt around your face and balances the skin's pH. As well as this, toning tones your skin to one skin tone. For those who have uneven skin, toning should be an essential part in your evening skincare routine! There are many toners out there whether that be from The Body Shop, Caudalie or Clinique but there are many DIY ways to tone your skin. I sometimes use witch hazel to tone my face – using pure witch hazel balances and tones the skin . At the moment, I am on the look out for a new toner!

SERUM

The second moisturiser, is what I like to call a face serum. I’ll be honest, I use to think that face serums were only for the older generation and that those who are younger cannot use them, but they can! Serums don’t replace your daily moisturiser but they brighten the skin, soothes and softens the skin as well. Using a serum essentially makes your skin feel healthier and softer. Using a serum is not important it is optional, you don’t have to use it or have it in your skincare but it can reduce fine lines on your face and make your skin feel a lot firmer. I only started using a serum of recent and have seen massive improvements in my skin, will be sticking to this from now on as much as I can.

EYE CREAMS

Eye creams are able to reduce the puffiness under the eyes, reduce dark circles and eliminate any fine lines/wrinkles around the eye area. For those who do have dark circles around your eyes, it would be worth the purchase of buying a good eye cream. Not only would this better for your eyes but make your makeup look better, ever since using eye creams my makeup has looked much better than usual – concealer looks a lot better and applies on easier. The eye cream that I personally think has helped me in many ways, is the Clinique All About Eyes Cream – it is a lightweight product, that is a gel which has successfully reduced the appearance of my dark circles. For the spring/summer period, I will definitely be alternating between the REN Active Gel (there’s a post on it) because I find that it is better at reducing puffiness which is necessary for the hot periods.

MOISTURISERS

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. Out of all the key steps that are listed in this post, this has to be the important step, especially for those who have dry skin. Moisturising twice a day is essential, especially before bed. Using a moisturiser keeps your face looking and feeling incredibly healthy, also reviving the skin whilst you’re sleeping. It is likely that those who are reading, wear makeup in the day, once you’ve taken off your makeup it is important to keep your skin hydrated. For moisturising, it is important to find a moisturiser that will suit your skin whether that be oily, normal, combination or dry. I have combination skin and due to this I use moisturisers that are hydrating, natural and light. This is because I find that moisturisers that are heavy plus applying on makeup, personally, makes me feel dirty (sounds weird, I know).

FACE MISTS

Using hydrating face mists like the Vitamin E Refreshing Toning Mist locks in the moisture of the skin, keeps your skin moisturised and hydrated throughout the night. Those who suffer from dry skin, this would be a good product for you to purchase as your skin will never feel dry and always look healthy.

Spring Makeup Wishlist

marc jacobs, dior, lip liner, wishlist, makeup

It's now Spring and it is time to embrace the glow, the peachy and pink colours and loads of highlighter. I have quite a few bits an' bobs that are on my makeup wishlist for the month of April, so here's a post showing you.

For spring, I am looking for a lot of peachy, orange-y, coral blushers that will look nice for this period of time. So, I decided to add some NARS blushers on my wishlist like 'Orgasm', 'Deep Throat', 'Desert Rose'. Staying with blushers, I also have my eye on the Illamasqua Powder Blushers in 'Excite' and 'Naked Rose'.

I didn't notice that there are a lot of lip products on this wishlist, haha my bad. For the Spring time, I'd love to own a DIOR Addict Lipstick in 'True' and 'Must Have' such lovely brown, nude colours that would look so nice for Spring. From Tom Ford, to be totally honest I would like the whole collection because they look so nice and from previous reviews I have heard that it is such a nice, long lasting product. From Zoeva, I'd love to try out their Luxe Cream Lipsticks as they retail for such a nice price!

From Dior again, I'd love to try their long-wear professional eyeshadows in 'Mirage' and 'Songe'. They look like really nice eyeshadows, 'Songe' looks like a perfect colour for the Spring as an go-to colour. Bobbi Brown's cream shadow sticks look like something I need in my makeup bag as I love quick go-to makeup looks. The shadow sticks in 'Pink Sparkle' and 'Soft Peach'.

What is on your Spring Makeup Wishlist?
