ThatBelleMakeup - Duo Blush, Mac

Duo Blush, Autumnal

I don't know about you but I love finding products that are work well to two things and the MAC Blush in 'Pinch Me' does just that.

I have had the MAC Blush in 'Pinch Me' for a couple of months now and despite only using it for my cheeks, I have recently been "breaking" the makeup code and using it for my eyes. The blush is a muted rosy colour on the cheeks which brings a lovely warmth to the face. It has a hint of coral in it which would look lovely on those with a darker skin tone. It is a natural blush but easily buildable giving it a high pigmentation of a dirty rose. With a huge fluffy brush, dust this against your cheeks.

As the months and seasons are changing, I decided to change up my eyeshadow game as using this shade for my lids. It looks really nice on the eyes almost like a pink burgundy colour, a great shade for the transitional time that we are currently in. With a sharp wing and a coat of mascara, you are good to go.

Do you have any blushes that can be used as an eyeshadow as well?

Transitional Skincare Routine

Monday, 19 September 2016

skin chemists, caudalie, skincare, eauty thatbellemakeup

At the moment, we are in between Summer and Autumn. What I like to call the odd time. Since it is the odd time, I feel like personally for me my skin suffers a bit as I don't know what to apply especially with a weather forecast that doesn't seem to make sense. But, I have been alternating through a few products to help me get through this odd time! My skincare routine is very minimalist during this time and doesn't include many products due to sensitivity.

For the Morning:

My facial cleansing routine is still the same with using the Clinique Facial Soap although I am looking to purchase the facial brush for deeper cleansing and exfoliation. Onto the moisturising session, I alternate between the two SkinChemists Advanced Snail Range Day Moisturiser* as it's a bit thicker than my Caudalie Moisturising Sorbet*. My morning skin routine differs based on the weather as it is changing quite rapidly but for the colder days, I use the SkinChemists Advanced Snail Range Day Moisturiser* and for the hotter days I use the Caudalie Moisturising Sorbet* which cools down extremely hot face whilst keeping it fresh.

TRANSITIONAL SKINCARE ROUTINE

For the Evening:

For the evening, I still use the same facial soap as the one for my morning routine. But instead, I like to use a facial oil. Packed with Vitamin E, the Vitamin E Facial Oil from Superdrug leaves my skin feel incredibly hydrated and nourished. To keep my face soft and toned, I use the Vitamin E Toning Facial Spray - together both of them work like a dream which works great throughout the night as well as not leaving me with a worry that my skin will be dry in the morning. For the lips, I like to use a heavy duty lip cream as my lips get very dry throughout the night like the NUXE Rieve De Miel Lip Balm or Vaseline.

Has your skincare routine changed slightly?

Baking A Lemon Cake

Baking A Lemon Cak

One of my favourite cakes to bake has to be a lemon bake due to its simplicity. I have been baking lemon cakes for a very long time and I can officially recite the whole recipe any day. I love baking so much, so in spirit of the GBBO season and my love for it, I thought I'd share with you my favourite recipe.

You will need:

A large bowl

A wooden spoon/hand held mixer/KitchenAid

170g of butter

170g of self-rasing flour

170g caster sugar

1 tsp baking powder

Zest of 2 lemons

3 eggs

A loaf baking tin

Method:

Greasproof your baking tin by greasing your tin with butter and putting the baking parchment in the tin.

Preheat your oven to Gas Mark 5

In a large bowl add the 3 eggs, sieve in the flour, caster sugar, butter, zest of two lemons and the baking powder.

Mix together until creamy and pale

In your baking tin, put the creamy mixture in and bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes or until golden.

To check whether or your cake is done, put a skewer in several places and if clean, your cake is done.

Make sure that you don't take out your cake until time is done otherwise your cake will sink.

Enjoy!

Skin Chemists Review

Thursday, 8 September 2016

There have been many a time that I have said on my blog this I am an obsessed skincare lover to which SkinChemists could obviously see. Kindly, they sent me a package of their new Advanced Snail Range* to try out.

For those who don't know SkinChemists is a cruelty free skincare brand made from 100% organic products. Having never heard of the brand, I researched a bit about it where I found that it is one of the UK's most loved skincare brand for celebrities such as Amy Childs and more. What interested me a lot in their skincare brand is that they have a new advanced snail range, I was really interested in the combination of snails in my daily routine, so I jumped on the chance to try out such products.

But what is the Advanced Snail Range? The Advanced Snail Range works on repair and tightening skin for a younger, flawless complexion. Made from snail secretion, Vitamin E, Tiare and creatine, this range is essentially made to slow down natural ageing processes, reduce sensibilities of fine lines and soften the skin.

I was kindly sent two moisturisers, one to use in the day time and one to use at night! I have never heard of skincare products like this so I was really excited to see the difference it would make to my skin. Sticking to my usual skincare routine of using Clinique products, I first used my SkinChemists Advanced Snail Range Night Moisturiser* after washing my face. On first impressions, I saw that the cream was not light but not too thick, it had the right consistency. The smell of the product was very sweet and smelt really nice. The moisturiser didn’t take too long to blend it to my skin leaving my face feel completely hydrated and smooth. After a while I felt a little bit of tightness on my skin, I wasn’t too worried just because I thought maybe it is doing its job. The next day I used both products which were both the same but obviously there was something in their products that would improve my skin. A little background information for you, my skin is entirely clear with a few blemishes and the occasional rashes but I do not suffer from acne, etc. I used to have eczema but that went away. With the ingredients that were on these moisturisers, I was intrigued to see what effect it would have on my skin to which after 3 weeks of using I would have to say that these two moisturisers have brightened my complexion as well as with the help of my Vitamin E Toning Mist my skin is slowly becoming evenly toned.

Have you tried out anything from SkinChemists?

16 Beauty Tips

Monday, 5 September 2016

I think that this has to be my 2nd instalment of beauty tips here on my blog. I first wrote about some beauty tips a couple of months ago and I think that it is safe to say that I have learnt a bit more! So much so that I decided to up the amount of tips to 16.

1.  Use nose strips to reduce blackheads and to deeply exfoliate around your nose.
2. If your mascara has dried up, you can use it as a spoolie for your eyebrows or even to set them.
3. If you get a bit oily around your T-Zone, set your around your eyebrows with translucent powder.
4. Make sure you refill your acrylics every 1-2 weeks to ensure that they don't break your nails.
5. On days where you can be bothered, put a gold eyeshadow in your inner corner to brighten your eyes as well as coat the outside part of your lashes with mascara.
6. Wash your makeup brushes every two weeks to reduce the amount of breakouts on the skin.
7. Use an eye cream or eye mask to reduce puffiness.
8. As the colder seasons approaches, use facial oils to keep the skin nourished and hydrated.
9. Use a nail strengthener on your nails every 2 weeks to keep your nails strong.
10. Only fill in the sparse areas of your eyebrows to create that "fuller" eyebrow look.
11. Always moisturise your lips before you sleep so that you don't wake up with dry lips the next day.
12. For the brighter, whiter teeth purchase a teeth whitening toothbrush and mouthwash from the same brand.
13. To clean up your lipstick instead of using your fingers, with a small brush carve out your lips with concealer.
14. Don't use toothpaste on your skin to treat any spots, purchase a specific spot treatment.
15. In order to keep your baby hairs and hair slick down, put a pair of tights on your head overnight.
16. To create "fuller" lips, put a dark eyeshadow exactly underneath your lips.

Things To Do This Autumn

According to the meteorological terms, it is officially Autumn however when you Google when Autumn starts it starts on September 22nd. But in my mind, it is officially Autumn, since it is September I thought this post would be an appropriate way to start off the Autumn posts.

Go out pumpkin carving | I know it's "far" away but you can go out and purchase some pumpkins for the festive season of Halloween. It would be fun to go out with other people and carve out some pumpkins.

Spend your weekends purchasing dark lip colours | Burgundy, purple, deep red, red - the colours of this season! Spend your weekends purchasing some of the dark colours online like Colourpop or go to CultBeauty and have fun.

Go out on walks | The roads will be full of leaves during this time, putting on a pair of black knee high boots, talk a walk out, take some photos and take a break from much stress. Be one with the outside world.  Even if it's not for exercise purposes it can be a gratitude walk with someone else.

Have a camping trip with friends | Now that the hottest season is passing, it would be appropriate to our body temperatures to go out and have a camping trip with friends. If camping out in tents isn't your thing, maybe trying "glamping" where you get a caravan/motor home and spend your weekend in nature.

Read more and more | Since its the season where it gets darker quicker, it feels incredibly cosy very quickly and wrapping up in a blanket whilst reading some of your favourite books will be the best way to spend some of your lazy days indoors.

Colouring books | Sticking to the theme of staying indoors and being extra cosy, purchase a few adult colouring books. You may thinking that it is a bit boring but when you having a stressful day or just want a quiet night in, colouring books are one of the best go-to's.

Exercise | This would probably be the best time to go on a long walk or jog just because it is getting darker a bit and it's so much cooler. I'm thinking about the sweat, guys. Put on your favourite trainers and go for a jog.

Attend a Fashion Week | There are a few fashion weeks happening this September if you were lucky enough to get some tickets go and have some fun! If not, try and book one for next year if that's something that you are interested in.

What will you be doing this Autumn?

August Favourites

Friday, 2 September 2016

Another month, another edition of monthly favourites. Not going to go into how fast August went because I am sure that we all felt it, but as we are now in the second day of the new month its time to talk about my favourites.

Black Seaweed Peel Off Mask | I have been in love with this mask for the past month, it has been one of my go-to masks for when I feel like my skin needs a bit of a pick me up or even on a pamper night. This affordable seaweed mask is full of Sea Buckthorn as well which helps detoxify the skin, after using this masks a couple of times I have seen an improvement in my complexion. The mask leaves my skin with a subtle glow, it has reduced some of black heads around my trouble areas but also compliments my sensitive skin.

Vitamin E Facial Mist | I have an in-depth review on the Vitamin E Facial Mist but I just love it a lot. This month especially has proven how much this facial mist has helped improve on my uneven skin tone with the combination of using this with my Clinique Facial Soap, the full-proof combo works together to provide a hydrated base for my everyday makeup and more!

Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder | Remember when I said before that I didn't like this powder
because of the finish that it gave? Well, I have changed the way that I apply this powder underneath my eyes. After watching Makeup By Samuel, I decided to change my makeup skills, he applies translucent powder on his hand and then with a brush/beauty blender. I have found that especially with this powder it sets better and appears better on my skin tone.

Chubby In The Nude Foundation Stick | This month I have been doodling all over my face with this foundation stick. It has been weird as I am used to liquid foundations but it has been really good. It's so much quicker for my everyday basis, it is so easy to blend in with a damp beauty blender or even a foundation brush. Definitely one of the top favourites for this month.

Bomber Jackets | Am I late? I think I am, bomber jackets this month have been my favourite especially this Blush Pink Bomber Jacket from Zara. Zara's bomber jackets have been my favourite but I am also eyeing the Topshop Bomber Jackets as well.

POWER | At the end of July one of my favourite TV shows came back and for the past month, I have been watching it every Sunday. For those that don't know what Power is about, I'll give you a rough idea without spoiling anything. Power is about a guy who is a drug dealer but also a businessman who has a wife and children, however,  he gets confused and caught between the two in which he has to choose which career path he'll choose in the end. It's a really good TV series and is just getting better.

Great British Bake Off | I don't know if this is allowed to count but I'm going to add it anyway. The Great British Bake Off came back to our screens two weeks ago and it has been great. I'm already an obsessed baking so the return of this series is feeding on my baking obsession. If you watched this week's episode, you may be seeing some biscuits on my blog next week!

What have you been loving this August?
