Tips To Make Your Perfume Last Longer

tips to make your perfume last longer

I think it is safe to say that everyone wears perfume on a weekly basis, some more than others. I love to wear perfume on a daily basis and my most expensive perfumes on special occasions. Since I have been wearing perfume for a very long time, I've discovered and used a lot of tips to help make my perfume last much longer....

1. Spray your perfume on your clothes in your wardrobe, this sounds really weird but it works. There are days when you are in a rush and you will forget to spray perfume on yourself, but your clothes will spray perfect! I love to spray my wardrobe with perfume so that my clothes always smell nice.

2. Spray your perfume on each wrist, don't rub it together as the fragrance will not last for long.

3. Spray your perfume behind your eyes and the nape of your neck, it's the first thing that people will smell once they hug you.

4. Use an unscented lotion before you apply your fragrance to make it last longer.

5. Purchase a perfume that will become your signature scent for an everyday basis, something that's simple, floral or sweet - all dependent on you!

6. Expensive fragrances last a very long time!

7. Spend money on the fragrance products - creme, body oils, perfume. Jo Malone especially sells products based on individual scents, my favourite would be Wild Bluebell, English Peony & Freesia and Mimosa and Cardamom.

8. Always keep the lid of your perfume on to ensure that the scent of the fragrance doesn't run/die out.

9. Keep your fragrances in cool environments like a medicine cabinet.

What fragrance tips do you have to share? And what is your favourite fragrance?

Best Places To Buy Luxury Beauty Items

best places to buy luxury beauty items, boots, selfridges

I love luxury products, I love that fact that I can spend an X amount of money and know that it is worth it. I love the fact that it will last a long time and the luxury of such high end products makes me feel happy. Needless to say, drugstore products are just as amazing. Everyone has their favourite store that they always end up in when shopping for luxury products and here are some of the best places to shop for beauty items.

I have not shopped from NetAPorter yet, but I do love spending my time browsing through their website, especially their fashion products (but that is for another post). NetAPorter is a premier website that oozes luxury all over. At the moment, I have a few products from this shop on my list - I have been looking at the La Mer skincare for a very long time although it is extremely expensive and out of my price range it seems like a good skincare to treat yourself when you want a new pick me up. I have heard amazing things about the La Mer Moisturising Soft Cream which sounds perfect, maybe one day, a girl can dream right? I love the Burberry makeup brand, from reading posts from BeautybyKelsey to watching them in makeup tutorials, this brand sounds amazing. The swatches of their lip products are also amazing and that is why the Lip Velvet in Bright Plum is on my list and the Burberry Kisses in Sepia is also on my list.

Selfridges has to be my favourite go-to store for everything, I feel like all the makeup brands that I love to wear are all under one store, which is amazing for lazy ol' me. For those who don't know Selfridges has brands like MAC, Giorgio Armani, NYX, Too Faced and Clinique, just to name a few. Personally, I am in the middle with NARS products but I am looking to try out the NARS Soft Matte Coverage Concealer which I tried out and was really lovely, I might have to venture out and buy it.

Boots has to be another one of my favourite stores, I just love the fact that I can get drugstore and highend brands whenever I want to. At the moment, I have a lot of Liz Earle products on my wishlist due to the hand and arm massage I recently got and Boots has an endless amount of their products. I love the fact that I can get an NYX eyebrow pencil and go over to the YSL counter for a lipstick, the variability of this shop makes me happy each time.

AllBeauty is an online website that offers luxury products for lower prices, now this may sound a bit dodgy but let me explain. Let's say, for example, you were on the lookout for the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch and found it on their original website for £25. On the AllBeauty website, this product would be a bit cheaper for £22.95 - yes there is not a massive difference as we would hope but it helps, no? It is a really good website and their products come very quick, I do love using this website when I want to cut down a bit more.

If you are in love with French products but can not always find them on other websites, this is the best website to got to. Escentual offers products from Bioderma, La Roche-Posay, Avene, Vichy, Eucerin, A-Derma, Darphine, NUXE, Kloraine, Eludril and many more which is amazing, they are always having sales on such products listed above as well. Apart from the French pharmacy products above, they also sell luxury products like Givenchy and Guerlain. Their offers are amazing as well as their sales and I would definitely recommend using this website.

Ways To Grow Your Hair Naturally

ways to grow your hair naturally, cantu beauty

Since I cut my hair a couple of years ago because it was very unhealthy and dead, plus I fancied a new change. I have been trying to grow my hair back to where it was and longer through natural processes but also the help of many different products from various brands. As a little disclaimer, these tips have helped me and many people have asked how I grew my hair, so I thought I'd share them, I am not a hair specialist nor an expert.

Massage your scalp
I'd recommend massaging your scalp for at least 10-15 minutes, it does not have to be in the mirror it could be whilst watching a television programme. Massaging your scalp on a daily basis increasing blood flow to your hair follicles which increase the chance of new hair growth and a healthier head of hair.

Use natural oils
- Use Coconut Oil on a regular basis, coconut oil can be used as a hot oil treatment, to tame frizzy hair and reduces dandruff. Coconut Oil has Lauric acid in it which is supportive of cellular health which can help prevent the loss of protein in the hair. Coconut Oil creates a shiny, thick texture which is unbelievably soft.
- Castor Oil is an amazing natural oil which is the best thing to use to grow your hair. The texture of the oil is quite thick, imagine the outcome. Use this to oil your scalp or also as a hot oil treatment. If you have hair loss in some areas of your hair, this is the go-to oil for fast effect remedy hair loss due to the ricinoleic acid. Use this at least twice a week and you'll see a huge change in your hair, your hair will be thick as ever.
- Avocado Oil helps to moisturise the scalp effectively, detangles the hair perfectly and removes dandruff. It is a perfect dandruff treatment. Using avocado oil to massage your scalp will increase the blood flow to your hair thus stimulating new growth.

You can also put food in your hair
- You can put avocado in your hair and mixed it with mayonnaise or conditioner. Before washing your hair or after you have washed your hair, you can use this mixture as a hair mask. This is a good hair mask for dry, damaged hair as it strengthens the hair and makes it shiny. Make sure that the avocado is very soft and wash it out until completely gone.
- You can also crack a few eggs for a protein treatment. The protein in the eggs helps to strengthen the hair and promote growth, it also helps to clean your scalp and hair. Mix this with yoghurt to ensure that your hair grows out fast and healthy with volume. Protein treatments, however, shouldn't be as frequent, I'd recommend once a month as it can lead to dry hair that's why it is important to follow up with a moisturising conditioner.
- Using honey as a pre-poo treatment (which is where you apply oils to your hair before shampooing and conditioning for an hour) helps to stimulate the hair growth, lighten the hair and reduce frizz. If you have any scalp problems, the antiseptic qualities of honey prevent and soothes such infections. Mixing this with a natural oil will also help to improve the quality of your hair.

Keep your hair protected and moisturised at all times
Bedtime. This is the time to take care of your hair overnight, using a silk pillow cover or bonnet will prevent knotted hair and maintain the shine in your hair. Pillow cases are made from cotton which removes the moisture from your hair, so covering your hair with a silk cover or wearing a silk bonnet will reduce greasy hair and keep the moisture locked in. This is important as we need moisture to help our hair growth healthily.

Wash your hair enough times
Now, this is all dependent on your hair, if your hair gets greasy in the space of 2 days, by all means, wash your hair but if not wash your hair at least once a week. Washing your hair too many times and create brittle, dry hair as too much manipulation to the hair can cause breakage as well, so just keep it to a minimum but obviously, this is dependent on you. This could be either co-washing your hair (washing your hair with only conditioner) or normal washing. After you've washed your hair, the last rinse should also be in cold water. I'd also recommend an apple cider vinegar wash at the end if you want to ensure that your scalp is 100% clean.

Use deep conditioner
Deep condition your hair each time you wash it as it will make your hair manageable after washing, less prone to breakage and reduce the amount of frizz. This helps to treat dry, damaged and colour treated hair. Deep condition also promotes elasticity to your hair especially if you use natural oils at the same time. Whilst your deep conditioning your hair, steam your hair at the same time which increases blood circulation and adds in moisture. All of this could be done under 20 mins if you are in a hurry.

Oil your scalp as much as possible
Now, don't over oil your hair as you will block the follicles in your hair and it won't grow successfully. But make do make sure that your scalp and hair are never dry or else, your hair will suffer and become damaged easily. Focus the oil especially on your ends as that's the most knotted area of your hair. At least every 2-3 days depending on how your hair reacts to oils/moisture.

Eat right and drink lots and lots of water
Lastly, the key to getting healthy, soft, clean hair is through what you eat as well. Eating healthy, of course not on an everyday basis, will help to improve your hair and also increase hair growth. Drink loads of water on a daily basis, which will not only grow your hair but also improve your skin too!

Baking Treats To Make This Easter

Monday, 10 April 2017

baking treats to make this easter, tanya bakes

As it's the week before Easter Sunday and I am sure the majority of you will be celebrating your Easter break with your loved ones, I thought I'd share some easy quick baking treats to bake with your loved ones or by yourself to share this Easter. If you haven't guessed already, for those who are new to my blog, I am obsessed with baking...enjoy.

Lemon Drizzle Cake | I have written a recipe post about this on my blog before. I love baking this cake because it is so easy to bake and I can remember this recipe any day. You can put as many or as little lemon zest in this cake as you want, it's all about preference. You will need; 170g of butter, 170g of self-raising flour, 170g of white caster sugar, 1 tsp of baking powder, zest of 2 lemons and milk if the cake is a bit hard but it shouldn't be. After 35-40 minutes on gas mark, 4-5 take it out, and enjoy!

Chocolate Cookies | I love baking these cookies! They are quick and easy only takes less than 25 minutes including preparation. You will need 2 different types of chocolate (milk, dark or white) and you can add in as much chocolate as you want. I am a chocolate freak so add it loads (whoops). You will need 200g butter, 300g caster sugar, 275 self-raising flour, 75g of cocoa powder and a dash of milk. Make the chocolate dough into little balls or big balls and evenly space it out on a baking tray. After 15-20 minutes it will be done! Enjoy with a glass of milk.

Chocolate Nests | These are one of the quickest baking treats in this list. You will need to melt 225g of chocolate with 2 tbsp golden syrup and 50g of butter over a pan of simmering water. In the cupcake cakes, use shredded wheat or cornflakes and mix together with the chocolate mixture. And voila! Decorate it any way you want. These are addictive so make loads.

Vanilla Cupcakes With Mini Eggs | Vanilla cupcakes, another easy bake. You will need 110g of self-raising flour, 110g of caster sugar, 110g of butter, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 2 eggs and a dash of milk. Mix this all together and put them into cupcake cases for 18-20 mins. Whilst this is baking, make your buttercream icing. If you never iced a cake before, I'd suggest watching this video on Youtube. Put two mini eggs on the top of your icing, and you've got a gorgeous Easter friendly cupcake.

Victoria Sponge Cake | This is just a classic cake that everyone loves right? A Victoria Sponge, a British classic. You will need 200g of self-raising flour, 200g of caster sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla essence and 4 free range eggs. After they have baked for 25-30 minutes, lay them aside to cool. Spread one cake with raspberry jam and whipped cream and raspberries/strawberries and put the cakes on top. Dust the top with icing sugar and you're done.

What will you be baking this Easter?

Two Weeks With Cantu Beauty

Saturday, 8 April 2017

cantu beauty, shea butter, daily oil moisturiser, thatbellemakeup

For the past two weeks, I have been using a new hair care range that isn't Shea Moisture...

I have been using Shea Moisture for a very long time, it has definitely helped to grow my hair and since I have been on my hair journey I have been experimenting many different brands that can help me grow my hair successfully. I have loved Shea Moisture for a very long time, and I still love it. I recently ventured into the Cantu hair products and I must say......I LOVE it.

I have always used two products so far, but I'm enjoying it so far. Before, I bought these products my hair was a bit knotty and dry since I hadn't been using my Shea Moisture products so I bought this on a whim. The Intensive Repair deep treatment masque was very helpful in reviving the oils in my hair, it made my hair incredibly soft.  It has helped to restore my damaged hair and reduced the breakage. I used this with a whole avocado as together they would both help to promote hair growth and strengthen my hair. Using this alongside, the Cantu Beauty daily oil moisturiser has been amazing. I have been using this on an everyday basis where I have seen my hair improve in terms of softness and hydration. Using this every day has removed my dry scalp and hair, it adds shine to my hair as well! The moisturiser is light weight and if you have thick hair, this moisturiser won't weigh you down.

KEY INGREDIENTS:
The daily oil moisturiser smells lovely and sweet due to the shea butter which enables healthy growth. The anti-inflammatory qualities that shea butter possess provide moisture for dry hair and also soothes dry itchy scalps. Canola oil also helps to moisturise your scalps and prevent hair loss and split ends.
The hair treatment masque includes beeswax which is usually used to style hair but it can also promote hair growth. Avocado oil can be used to moisturise the hair successfully, detangle any knots and remove any dandruff. Another oil included in this masque is neem seed oil which cures any scalp problems, relieves eczema, keeps your scalp clean and healthy whilst also promoting hair growth.

Have you ever tried any products from Cantu? What are your favourite hair care brands?

A Few Spring Essentials

Thursday, 6 April 2017

A Few Spring Essentials

Now we are in the midst of Spring, I thought it is only right to share some of my Spring essentials that I love.

Chloe Eau De Parfum
I have talked about this fragrance quite a bit on this blog, there's something about this scent that I can't get rid of. I haven't finished the bottle yet, but I will soon especially as I will be using this a lot this season. The perfume is filled with warm honey and amber, the cedarwood notes combined with lychee make this perfume smell absolutely feminine and luxurious. It's a beautiful floral scent that lasts all day and deserves to be in my Spring essentials.

Clinique Chubby In The Nude  Foundation Stick
I love this foundation stick so much however in the Winter I tend to feel like this wears off a bit and seeing as the season is getting warm, this would be a perfect foundation. It does last long but only a couple of hours without any touch ups, the foundation is medium coverage with a natural. skin-like finish. I like to use this with a foundation brush, beauty blender or maybe using your hands.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
Another Clinique item would be this one. I personally don't like using cleansing wipes, so I always opt for a cleansing balm or milk. They are kinder to the skin and effective in removing makeup. I am a lazy person when it comes to taking off my makeup and I know it has to be done, so I find using a cleansing balm after a long day is the quickest way to get to bed. Haha.

Clinique Moisture Surge
As I mentioned before, the season is getting a bit warmer so I like to change up my skincare according to the season. I don't like to use heavy duty oils so I lovvveee to use my Moisture Surge cream from Clinique, it's a gel like cream that keeps your skin completely hydrated and cool. If it's a hot day and you don't want to use your usual creams, this is my favourite go-to. It has such an amazing effect on my skin, once I use this everyday my skin looks unbelievably clear and soft.

White Trainers
I feel like the minute Spring arrives, everyone likes to wear their white trainers. Whether that is converse or Nike trainers. There's something about white trainers that makes an outfit look really nice.
