clinqiue, skincare heroes and wishlist

Summer is approaching and for me, that's the most important time to take care of the skin. This is because of the majority of the summer period, I tend to not wear makeup as I hate to feel sticky and hayfever is a pain in the butt so I'm constantly itching or sneezing. So in order to make sure that my skin is ready for summer and throughout the humidity, here is what I use.....

Most of the time, I am walking around with a mask or scrub on my face because it is absolutely necessary for me. I love it when my skin glows without highlighter and to achieve this goal I do a few steps. Firstly, I like to increase my water intake up to 2 litres as day which at the moment isn't hard as I seem to have a major obsession with water. Secondly, I make my own scrubs - a lemon, avocado, brown sugar and honey scrub is my favourite scrub. On a dry face at least twice a week, I use this scrub on my face and keep it on for 5 minutes (if I have the extra time). After, I like to use lukewarm water and a bit of cold water to wash it off to keep the moisture in my skin. Thirdly, I love to use facial masks most of my masks are from Superdrug. I just love how inexpensive and effective they are, I am usually using at least two of this sachets a week just because I love the calming effect.

After this intense exfoliation, I like to use hydrating creams/oils on my face. At the moment, I have been using avocado oil on my face which has been incredible. My face feels incredibly soft, smooth and hydrating. Before using my avocado oil, I have been using the Skin Chemists Snail Range Night Moisturiser*, the ingredients in this cream smell absolutely amazing and I love the effect that it has on my skin. I also like to use the Skin Chemists Youth Facial Oil which provides my skin with a certain glow before my makeup. However, we can't forget about my one true love - the Clinique Moisture Surge. The best thing ever during the hot season, the gel-like formula makes your skin feel cool and calm. It's super hydrating, fragrance-free and amazing. I have to buy another one asap as the humidity is kicking in at full speed. The Clinique All About Eyes eye cream is perfect for all the people that suffer from hayfever, it reduces the puffiness and dark circles! Just as an extra hydrating boost, I love to use the Vitamin E Facial Toning Spray which has worked well in toning my skin and refreshing my skin on a hot day. The Vitamin E Oil is also an excellent shout but not for a summer's day, the vitamin in this oil helps to nourish and hydrate your skin.

Now, even though I'll probably opt for the minimalist makeup on a summer's day. Usually, I like to go for a bit of concealer under the eyes, mascara (if the pollen isn't too high) and eyebrow gel. I will obviously have to take this off, personally, I do not like makeup removing wipes as I don't like to tug against my skin aggressively. So I love to use the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm which is quick, easy to use and kind to the skin. Or if I am feeling very lazy, I will most likely head towards the Garnier Micellar Water with a few cotton pads.

As I am obsessed with skincare, I'm always looking for new skincare products. After recently reading Lily's Summer Skincare Routine I am really interested in trying out the Glycolic Acid which sounds amazing for toning my skin. Other than that, I have been wanting to try out the Tata Harper collection although it is quite expensive it has such good reviews, would be great to try out some of their products. Last year I tried out products from Caudalie and they were amazing, it would be great to try some products like their Overnight Oil and more of their Vinosource range!
