Monthly Review: July

Monday, 31 July 2017

July is finally over and we are about to head in to August. For me, July was quite a relaxed month but I was working quite hard on my blog and this upcoming month of August I will be daily blogging every single day up until 31st. My blogging game is about to go up a notch and I hope that many of you enjoy reading the content that I have in store, anyhoo, time to get in to some things that I have been loving this month.

Just like in the month of June, I haven’t makeup that much, I have worn makeup twice this month and I have been loving my skincare routine at the moment. This month, I have been using avocado oil to moisturise my skin which leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft, hydrated and moisturised. Afterwards, I love to use my Vitamin E Spray to tone my face and on some days where it is quite hot – it is definitely a great go-to.

I have been spending a lot of month catching up on TV programmes like Scandal and The Blacklist. Two of the many programmes that I have been obsessed with this month, more of which will be in an upcoming post. Like every month, there is new albums and singles being released and I think it is safe to say that this month that Wild Thoughts has been playing a lot in everyone’s ears. I have been loving DJ Khaled’s album as well as SZA’s Album – I’d defo recommend the two.

Since we are still on TV and music, might as well head over to our phones. I have been loving a few accounts on Instagram this month such as Lissy, Nakita Johnson, NiaTheLight and LydiaEliseMillen. Which brings me on to the YouTube side, I have been loving Lydia’s vlogs and some of her wedding videos. Also, I think that the wedding video from Samantha broke the Twitter world – she looked incredible and it was so emotional. Of course, I can’t forget about Victoria’s vlogs, you can tell how hard she works in her vlogs especially and I love watching them.

What are your favourites this month?

Apps That I Am Obsessed With

Apps That I Am Obsessed With

I know that I am not the only person that is obsessed with their phone, I mean I actually don't think I am that bad or maybe I am. I can spend hours without going on my phone (I think). So since I am not the only person, I thought I'd share some of the apps that I am currently obsessed with at the moment.

Instagram | Now this one is the debatable app at the moment, as it is fair to say that the new disorganised algorithm is messed everyone up. I'm slowly trying to adapt to it but it's hard but other than that I still spend most of my time on it scrolling through endless Instagram pages and getting loads of fashion inspiration. It's a dangerous app as I always find myself screenshotting outfits and ending up purchasing them.

Twitter | Whenever I need a little pick me up, I always find myself scrolling through my timeline and going through some of my favourite people on there. There’s always a hilarious meme to laugh at every day and every hour. I think the one thing that I will definitely miss would have to be Grace’s commentary every time Love Island was on, it was hilarious.

Pinterest | The app of home décor goals, this is where I get all my inspiration from and spend a long time scrolling through. I have quite a few photos saved of some ideas that I have, I also love to look at the DIY home décor side. There’s a lot of inspiration for everything on Pinterest whether it’s fitness, makeup or fashion – especially fashion. To follow me on there, so that I can scroll through more boards, scroll down to the bottom and follow me!

Adobe Photoshop Express | I think this has to be my favourite app at the moment and will definitely be included in this months favourites. I have been using this a lot for editing my Instagram photos on the go and it’s incredibly helpful, I don’t have Photoshop on my desktop and the fact that I am able to edit in one of the best editing software there are on my phone is great. My photos have got a bit better, if I do say so myself – inserts a cheeky promo.

iPhone Calendar | Does this count as an app? Yes? I have loved using this to plan some upcoming events as well as any blog posts that I may forget to schedule etc. The reason as to why it is in this post is because I never used to use this before but this year I decided to use it more and I love it! Don't put this in your "irrelevant" folder or even delete it off your phone, use it, it is amazing!

Netflix | Netflix is just absolutely great, I’m constantly finding new episodes to watch. I kind of think it’s bad that I have it on my phone, as I can spend such a long time on my phone engrossed in programmes. I have just finished off watching Suits, now it is time to watching Season 7. At the moment, I want to watch Prison Break, Narcos and Imperial Dreams. What Netflix series would you recommend to watch?

HypeType | This month, I have been obsessed with using HypeType to promote my blog posts on my Instagram story. The app allows you to post any photo and use a designed motion typography to make your animated posts look pretty! I love it and I think it's different!

What apps are you currently obsessed with?

You Should Never Give Up

Sunday, 23 July 2017

Not just in the blogging world, many people are slowly giving up on what they want to do and it is so sad to witness. How many times have you told someone that you want to do something or that you have a dream that you want to fulfil and they tell you that “you can’t do that” or laugh at you? Well, I have been told many times, but it hasn’t stopped me from getting where I am today.

There’s nothing wrong with having a dream, you shouldn’t be discouraged for having a dream in your life. Believing in yourself is the first part, trust in yourself to complete what you want to do. Focus and push yourself, the world is literally your oyster, there are many things that we have at our doorsteps in this world. Focus on your end goal and use it as your motivation to succeed.

What about the obstacles that you face? Yes, you will hit many bumps on your journey, but who won’t? Don’t let it discourage you because you have gotten so far, don’t let this little hurdle stop you from getting anywhere. Use this hurdle as a learning curve, what happened? Why do you think it happened? What can you do to make sure it doesn’t happen again? But more importantly, what can you learn from it specifically?

Don’t give up on your dreams no matter how outrageous people may think that they are if you believe that you can do it, work hard and never stop. Your dream isn’t based on trying to please other people but yourself.

There are many things that I have been told that I cannot do, but it motivates me even more to do it. It gives me a drive to not only prove that person wrong but prove it to myself. It’s funny because most of the time the people that are saying that you should give up on your dream are most likely jealous of how ambitious you are or just don’t want to see their peers do any better. Well, they can sod off. You can do anything that your heart desires, it’s all about reaching your full potential. If you believe that one day you can become a doctor, or a blogger or model, you can. You can do it, look at the many people in today’s society, many of them had a dream and they followed, so why shouldn’t you either? It’s all about having confidence in yourself, you can do it and if anyone tells you any different prove them wrong. You have got this and you can do it.

I’m not going to give up on my dream and I am certainly not going to give up on my dream of being me.

Just be true to who you are.

Have you hit any bumps on your journey? What are your dreams?

All About Spreading The Love

Friday, 21 July 2017

Ever since, I read Victoria's post on 5 Girl Bosses That Keep Me Inspired, I thought that I would do a similar post as it seemed like such a lovely gesture. As we have recently seen in general, we tend not to support each other’s plans and successes. There does not seem to be enough love spreading around, so for today’s post I thought I’d share some of the gals who are inspiring me at the moment but also who I am loving as well.

There’s probably no surprise that I am talking about Lily today, as I always am, but she is so hard-working. Once you’ve started to read her blog and follow her on her social media platforms, you will realise how much work she put into it. She inspires me and I can’t wait to see what she will do in the future. Don’t sleep on her!

I love Victoria, another hard-working gal. Not only is she an amazing blogger who has a blog that I love to stare at on a daily basis in awe, not just based on her photography but her writing. She is a YouTuber and I love to watch her videos, as well as her vlogs. She seems so genuine, hilarious and gorgeous. Her platforms are amazing and I’d suggest you follow each of them, you’ll have a good time.

Grace is a fitness vlogger who I have been obsessed with ever since last year, she is one of the few vloggers who introduced me into the world of fitness. I love to watch her videos as she is student, her vlogs are amazing and just emphasise on how hard working she is as a student as well as a YouTuber. She is booty goals!

Jasmine is probably one of the first few bloggers that I started to talk to once I started blogging, she’s so kind and lovely. She helped me a lot, more than I think she knows. I love to read her blog and I am so happy with the progress that she has made over the last couple of years, I can remember when she was at 15k followers, she is now at 60+k followers and she deserves each of them. Her blog posts are so in-depth and worth the read.

Apart from this gals above, a few more gals worth mentioning that I have been loving so much this year – I’d have to include Jayde Pierce, Gemma LouiseSophiesMakeup, JodieMelissa, Lydia Elise MillenGrace Victory, KrissyCela and Beth Norton. I haven’t met them in person but they seem like such genuine, lovely characters. I can’t wait to see what the future will bring because I know these girls will smash it. I especially cannot wait for Grace’s new book, she really is the internet’s big sister!

Who is inspiring you at the moment? Who are you loving at the moment? I’d love to know who is inspiring you to be the person that you are growing to be and are today!
