Personally, I love the idea of long eyelashes and I love the idea of eyelashes that look like individual false eyelashes. So because of this, I like to make my eyelashes look extremely long on a regular basis and after doing this for a couple of years, I think I'm finally getting to the hang of it.

Curl your eyelashes before your apply on mascara. | I don't have to tell you this, I am pretty sure that many of you reading this already do so. But if not, I like to curl my eyelashes before hand and pulse out the eyelash curler 7-10 times per eye which evidently curls your eyelashes and preps them for the application of mascara.

Use a lengthening mascara and a non-lengthening mascara. | I like to use either two different types of mascaras or one type of mascara many times. I love shopping for a lengthening mascara as I said before, I love the idea of "false eyelashes". I love the Clinique High Impact Mascara which makes my lashes seem natural and individualised. To make them look even more fuller, I use the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara and coat my lashes around 3 times. You may think that this makes my eyelashes look incredibly clumpy but it doesn't. They look longer, full and curly - works wonders if you have curly eyelashes as well.

Always take off your mascara before bed | I can not express this enough, taking off your makeup is important (I do forget on some occasions, I won't lie), but especially your mascara. Not taking off your mascara and lead to a reduced growth in your eyelashes. Your eyelashes will become clumped and you may have ingrowing eyelashes which hurts a lot (trust me). If you're only wearing eye makeup, I'd suggest the Garnier Micellar Water or the Clinique Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent - both are really effective and non-irrtant solutions to use to take off your eye makeup. Don't stunt the growth of your eyelashes, it's important!

Coat your eyelashes in different techniques | I bet you're thinking, how on earth am I meant to coat my eyelashes with mascara in different techniques? Well, firstly, I coat my lashes the normal way and then, I put my mascara wand behind my lashes - the top of the lash line and coat forwards. I have realised that this has made such a better impact in the way my eyelashes look. After I coat my lashes in a zig zag technique and also turn it to the side so that I coat the lashes individually which enhances that "fake, longer" look.

Apply liquid eyeliner on your lash line. | Last but not least, apply a thin line of liquid liner on your top lash line to create a fuller look in your eyelashes and you can even tight line your eyes if you want. Both techniques are very effective in making your eyelashes looks longer. Also, it doesn't matter on whether it is a felt tip eyeliner, it's up to you!

How do you make your eyelashes longer?
