Whats New In My Makeup Bag

What's New In My Makeup Bag

What have I got/bought over the past month? At the moment, I am into building up my makeup collection with products I know that I'll love. I've always been the girl who can have one of everything and be okay with it but I'm slowly starting to realise that I need to venture out and buy more of my makeup products.

First of all, we are going to start off with an oldie but a goodie. This mascara would have to be my first ever mascara, the Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara. I think that one of my first blog posts mentioned this mascara. I have always been obsessed with the fact that this mascara is very very black, almost jet black. The brush coats my lash extremely well whilst lengthening them to provide that almost "fake, individual eyelash" look. I had to bring in back into my makeup bag as unfortunately my current favourite mascara from Giorgio Armani was running out (I will be restocking that very very soon).

Next on the list, is the most-talked-about foundation from The Ordinary. I have written an in-depth review on before but I must say I have been loving the coverage foundation. The finish is absolutely great with medium coverage. It is a lightweight foundation and absolutely perfect for my skin, I love their deep undertones.

As I have always loved eyeliner, I'm always on the hunt for new ones (especially as my favourite Kat Von D Tattoo Liner finished). My best friend gave me her Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner which I love her for! The eyeliner applicator is so nice to apply with which produces a glossy finish. For those who are beginners, I would definitely recommend using this or a eyeliner similar. With the high percentage of carbon black, my wings have been fierce, sharp and jet black!

What's New In My Makeup Bagg

Last on my list is a new addition which is the Illamasqua Matte Veil Primer. Now, before this I haven't used any other primer than the Clinique SuperPrimer. The Matte Veil primer is a gel-like formula that absorbs excess oils on my face, this is usually around my t-zone, my nose and my chin. It definitely works well and provides a good, silky finish once makeup is applied. I'd definitely advise not putting way too much as it can feel quite heavy, so small amount definitely goes a long way. I'm definitely going to try more primers but maybe not matte ones...

What are the new products that are in your makeup bag?

Getting The Most Out Of Your Workouts

Getting The Most Out Of Your Workouts

For those who have been following me on Instagram and my blog will know that I am obsessed with fitness and working out. I love going to the gym and doing at home workout; after training for 2 years I have tried different ways of working out and finally understood how to get the most of my workouts.

They don't have to be more than 1 hour in order to get an effective workout, your workout can last 20-30 minutes and your body will be in shock as well as having a great sweat. On days where I am in a rush but in desperate need for a workout, I always find myself only being able to do a 30-minute workout where I like to do a least two circuits so that I can get the most out of my workout. Or sometimes, I like to do supersets as its faster as well! Supersets and circuits are the quickest way to do a workout if you are in a rush but just make sure you keep your form correct. Another way of working out in a short amount of time would be doing HIIT which stands for High Intense Interval Training - it's mainly used to burn fat and very very effective. I will tell you now, you'll be sweating and your body will thank you a lot! I like to do a bit of HIIT when my body feels sluggish or I haven't worked out for weeks on end.

Find a gym and join a class is another way! Most people don't like the idea of weight training or find that it is too boring which is understandable so I'd recommend joining a class like a spin class or even Zumba! I love Zumba and would recommend it to anyone, it's perfect - full of music and some dance moves as well the perfect way to workout. Find a class that is perfect for you and that you can enjoy going to it whenever you want. If you're not into intense training, yoga classes are also perfect. I think yoga is a great way to workout and I am slowly trying to implement into my weekly routines, it is a perfect way to improve your flexibility and stamina.

Getting The Most Out Of Your Workouts

Don't use your phone, just listen to music. Now, you're probably wondering why? Most times people argue that they do not get the most out of their workouts but one of the main reasons is due to the focus. The more time you spend on your phone flicking through Snapchat or Instagram the less time spent working out effectively. I suggest making a playlist on your phone before you leave and just let it play until your workout is done. Trust me, your workout will be so effective!

I always find that working out with your friend or a personal trainer motivates you more to complete the whole workout. I had a personal trainer a couple of years ago and before working with them, I used to think that I was working out great but once I had one session I was sweating after 10 minutes. Having a partner helps you immensely and pushes you to lengths you didn't think you can go to.

How do you get the most out of your workouts? Do you like working out?

My Current Skincare Favourites

My Current Skincare Favourites

As discussed many a time on this blog, I am obsessed with skincare. When it comes to skincare I am quite hesitant as my skin is very sensitive and breaks out from time to time (which I find highly annoying), so I'm always trying to find skincare products that are kind to sensitive skin and nearly natural.

After using my everyday. go-to face wash I currently find myself toning my face with The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner. Just a little bit on a cotton pad goes a long way, I apply this all to my face and my neck. One thing that I have realised is that my skin loves Vitamin E a LOT, so I'm always on the hunt for products with Vitamin E. The toner is alcohol-free so no harsh products are used in this product, I love the fact that it also takes off any excess makeup as well!

It's not a blog post on ThatBelleMakeup without a comment on Clinique. I have used the Moisture Surge for a while, I'd say over the last 2-3 years and I need to just purchase a 100ml of the Clinique Moisture Surge. The moisturiser is a gel-like texture which immediately nourishes your skin whilst providing a subtle glow at the end of the application. The Moisture Surge is very lightweight on the skin and you can instantly feel a difference once applied.

If I am not using the Clinique Moisture Surge, I am using my other holy grail product by Aveeno which is their Daily Moisturiser. I have been using Aveeno for over 5-6 years, no matter how many moisturisers I go through, I always find myself coming back to Aveeno. It's natural products like oats works so well with my skin and always leaves me feeling hydrated! It is the perfect remedy for the sensitive, dry and allergy prone skin as it is full of oatmeal which helps to restore the skin back to normal. I love the fact that it uses oats it cleanses the skin by removing the dirt but also treats skin with allergies providing a soothing sensation.

On nights where I feel like my skin needs a little pick me up which is usually 1-2 times a week, I always put on a face mask. I have been using the Origins face mask for a couple of weeks as a sample size which I have been loving and need to add it to my wishlist. But when I haven't been using this face mask, I always find myself using the inexpensive Superdrug face masks for only 99p. The face masks vary but I do love the Cucumber one as it doesn't break me out and leaves my skin feeling very fresh.

My Current Skincare Favourites

To finish off my skincare routine, I always spray my face with the Vitamin E Toning Mist (another Vitamin E product, I know). I can't remember a year/day where I haven't sprayed my face after my skincare routine whether that is day or night, there's something soothing about using a face mist. It calms my skin and my mind, ultimately. I love the finish it provides on my skin as well as the fact that it helps to tone my face - after using it for a good 3 years this mist has changed my skin tone by evening out my complexion. I love it!

Did I Like The Ordinary Foundation?

Friday, 19 January 2018

It's so inexpensive!

It has been a very long time since I have bought a new foundation, especially a foundation that wasn't Clinique. At first, I was very apprehensive about buying it because of my sensitive skin but after the multiple reviews that I have read about The Ordinary, I knew that it was worth it....

The bottle comes as a pump which is so useful and easy to use on an everyday basis. The bottle is rather small, it's not a big bottle. I liked this because I was worried that I wouldn't like it so I'd probably feel bad if it was a big bottle. The foundation is in a plastic bottle and very portable. I have been using this foundation for over a month now and I love it. The foundation coverage is medium coverage which I love as sometimes I don't want a high coverage makeup look.

The Ordinary Foundation is available in 21 versatile shades and it is classified to each undertone which is unique to a brand's foundation. "R" for red, "Y" for yellow and "N" for neutral, therefore it's definitely worth knowing your undertone beforehand!

After applying it with either a beauty blender or a brush, in my opinion, I feel that the brush gives it a better finish. The finish is semi-matte with a subtle glow to it, it is very natural with a medium coverage. It does oxidise ever slightly after applied, but that's not a huge negative to the product. I have realised that after a while, my face gets a bit oily so a powder is necessary to keep by your side but that might just be me! After a day's worth of wearing it from 9-5, the foundation doesn't leave your face and stays ever so flawless on the skin. I'd definitely ensure that you have moisturised your face and used a moisturising primer before use as it's essential. I love that fact that it hasn't broken my skin out or led to any skin issues so it's a huge thumbs up from me. The fact that its less than £10 makes me want to purchase it again although I think it might be a while until I do as only 2 pumps is enough for a full face!

Have you tried the Ordinary Coverage Foundation?
